the besto pesto
Pesto is my all-time favourite sauce. With basil as one of the main ingredients it also smells amazing and is a much healthier alternative to a store bought sauce which is usually packed with hidden sugars and preservatives. Store this recipe in a mason jar in the fridge for up to a week.
- 1 + 1/2 cup of basil
- 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup of nutritional yeast
- 1 cup of walnuts
- 1/4 cup of water
- juice from 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- dash of salt to taste
Blend in food processor. Add water to preferred consistency.
