cheesy herb popcorn
Popping popcorn yourself is soo easy and a lot better for you than buying it in stores where there's going to be added preservatives and unrecognizable ingredients. This is a low calorie snack and also contains a small amount of some B vitamins, which help with energy production. The nutritional yeast is what gives it the cheesy kick! This recipe serves one or two people, depending on if you want to share!
- 1/3 cup of organic popcorn kernels
- 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tablespoon of dried oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon of dried rosemary
- Salt to taste
In a small bowl, mix the nutritional yeast, oregano and rosemary.
Place three tablespoons of olive oil and a single popcorn kernel in a pot with a lid on the stove on medium heat.
Once the kernel pops, pour the rest of the popcorn kernels in. Keep the heat on medium.
Shake the pot slightly, keep it moving as the popcorn pops so the bottom kernels don't get burnt.
The popcorn should be done within a couple of minutes. Once you start hearing about 5 seconds in between popping it's done!
Pour the popcorn in a big bowl. Pour your herbs mix on top and shake the popcorn around the bowl to mix it in.
Finish with a dash of salt to taste!
