make it yourself: 3 ingredient chia jam
This recipe is so easy, you'll never want to go back to store bought jam. The ingredient that makes this jam turn into jelly is chia seeds. These incredibly powerful little seeds are packed with protein and omega-3 fatty acids which are great for your brain. Store for up to a week in a mason jar in the fridge.
- 4 cups of raspberries (or whatever your favourite berry/fruit is!)
- 1/3 cup of chia seeds
- 1/3 cup of organic maple syrup
Heat berries in a pot on the stove on medium heat until the berries start to bubble.
Add chia seeds and maple syrup stirring ingredients together.
Let the ingredients simmer together on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Pour jam into mason jar and let it sit in the fridge for 2 hours. The chia seeds will absorb the berry juices giving it a jelly consistency.
