4 ingredient chickpea fries

I've raved about chickpea flour before when creating my flatbread and falafel recipe. Chickpea flour is an amazing inexpensive ingredient that's also packed with protein. It's very versatile and these french fries are an easy side dish and the perfect guilt-free comfort food. This recipe is enough for a side dish for 2 people.


  • 1 and 1/2 cups of chickpea flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix chickpea flour, water, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Line a pan with parchment paper and pour mixture spread across the pan.

The consistency should be like a thick pudding.

Bake for 20 minutes or until it has the consistency of flatbread.

Take flatbread out of the oven, let it cool a bit and then cut the flatbread into strips (whatever size for the fries you prefer)

On medium heat in a pan, drizzle olive oil and fry about 5 strips at a time on each side for about 2 minutes. You may need extra olive oil.

Once fries are all done, sprinkle them with about 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Consider serving with my green chip dip!
